Biblioscape 7 alpha release

Dear Biblioscape Users,

Biblioscape 7 alpha release has been made available at http://www.biblioscape.com/download/bsp7.exe.

Installation: For the alpha release, we didn't package files inside a standard Windows installer. Instead, all required files are inside a self-extracting WinZip file. You can just run bsp7.exe and unzip it to an empty folder. To run it, double click the Biblioscape.exe file. To remove it, delete the Biblioscape folder.

Biblioscape reviewed in a detailed 7 software packages comparison

Italian researcher Francesco Dell'Orso maintains a highly respected web site with reviews of major bibliographic software packages. Software are reviewed very differently from most software reviews you read on computer magazines. Very detailed feature grids are constructed and filled with head to head comparison between all the software reviewed. Biblioscape was first added in 2004 with a shorter analysis. It was not included in the feature grids. In the latest 13the edition, Biblioscape is added with a full review in every category along with Bookends, Library Master, ProCite, EndNote, Reference Manager, and Papyrus. Biblioscape customers who purchased in 2006 will get a free upgrade to version 7

Since version 7 development has taken much longer than expected, we will give all customers who purchased Biblioscape in 2006 a free upgrade when version 7 is released. Version 7 beta will be available in the fall. It will be formally released on the first day of 2007.

Since Biblioscape was first released in 1998, we have been providing customer support by email, and supplemented by user forum. From the feedbacks we have received, most users are satisfied with our support work. However, in the last several years, the web has gradually shifted to a new phase called Web 2.0. The concept is popularized by blogs, wikis, podcasts, RSS feeds, web services, etc. Websites are transformed from isolated information silos to sources of content and functionality. A new generation of web sites have been created, characterized by open communication and decentralization of authority.
