Problem with open-source WordPerfect macro

I am a new user of Biblioscape, and a long-time user of WordPerfect. The open-source macros by Hugh Gunz, which allow integration between Biblioscape and WordPerfect without having to go through RTF (which messes up the WP formatting), are great. If it weren't for them, I probably would not have chosen to use Biblioscape.

However, there appears to be a bug in the BibFormat macro. If there is more than one reference in a paper with the same author and year (a situation in which a letter would need to be appended to the year in an author-year style of citation, which is what I use), the macro crashes. The error message is: "Target label 'NEXTRI' of the 'OnNotFound' could not be found in the scope of the function 'APPENDCDLETTER'. Check line 890 of macro file BibFormat.wcm" Clicking the "More Info" button reveals that AppendCDLetter was called from line 506 (in EndFindFirst).

The same crash, with exactly the same information, happens if part of the title is marked as italicized in Biblioscape. (I haven't tried bolding or underlining.)

P.S. The BibFormat macro does not support suppression of parentheses (with ^np). Are there plans to add it?

I don't think the crash is

I don't think the crash is related to the Macro. Please email me a simple sample file. I will try to reproduce this problem. Thanks.

Another BibFormat.wcm problem -- solved

Paul,

I don't know how you're doing with the sample file I sent you to track down this WP macro crash, but in the meantime I had another "on not found" crash, this one when the reference is inside a footnote. I think I found the problem: on line 1911 I changed the search type to "Extended!" and now it works OK. This explicitly goes against the comment on that line, which states that an extended search is not needed.

Yes, I can reproduce the problem. I am not familiar with WP scripting. When working with WP, I always use the macros comes with Biblioscape installation under "Tools" folder. So everything has to go through RTF. I guess that is what you want to avoid. Thanks.

I'm not converting my WPDs to RTF...

I am not not not going to use the RTF macros to format my WordPerfect files. For now, I can work around these problems, but I think I'm going to have to step through the macro and see if I can figure out how to fix it.

Italicized text in title does not show in citation

I am a brand new user, and am only using the free preview version of Biblioscape, so perhaps the feature I need is disabled. However, I can't seem to get Biblioscape to show genus and species names in italics as is required by most scientific style books. Does anybody know how I can accomplish this?
I'm also having trouble getting Help to display. I'm using Biblioscape V. 7
Thanks,
Benthos

Benthos, you can change word

Benthos, you can change word in Title to italic by select the word and go to "Edit | Font Properties...". More info can be found at http://support.biblioscape.com/node/963
