Formating document affects custom Word template

I designed a custom Word template for the set up of my thesis and when I do the Biblioscape bibliography format, it changes the appearance of the new document (i.e. line spacing). When I check the document Word template, some of the styles have changed, as if Biblioscape styles are affecting the custom Word thesis template. Any suggestions to keep this from happening?

Thanks

Formatting document affects custom Word template

I checked the spacing in the output style as you suggested Paul and it is set on single, so the problem doesn't seem to be related to that. I am wondering whether BiblioWord might be interfering with my document spacing. BiblioWord probably has its own template for styles and formatting, or be connected to the Word Normal template in some way. I know in Word that some template styles can override others if you are working with one document using the Normal template and adding content from another with a different template. Is there some way of modifying the BiblioWord template or disabling it, since I don't use it?

Thanks

Formatting document affects custom Word template

Hello,
although I'm not sure whether this is the reason for your problem, it is generally advisable to DISable the "automatic update" in each of the styles in your document and in your document template. Where you find this option depends on which version of Word you are using.
If automatic update is ENabled, any change to the formatting of a paragraph in the document will be applied to the underlying style, too.

The template file

The template file bib_word.dot is not protected. You can open it in Word and modify if needed.

I am not a Word expert. I don't know why this happened. Biblioscape formatting just replace the temp citation with formatted citation and add a bibliography section. It add line spacing definition only for the bibliography section it added. You can change the line spacing settings in Biblioscape style editor. Go to the "Reference List / Bibliography" tab and "Layout" sub-tab.
