Note: I love the new forum!!

hang in there

great, it sounds like an early beta will be available this month...so hang in there folks...I agree, having tried many other ref managers that Bib still is more flexible than others.

Looking fwd to the new version. A complete rewrite does take a lot of time and resources so I'm not surprised that it has taken Paul this long.

Paul, Will Biblioscape 7 run

Paul,

Will Biblioscape 7 run on Windows 98/ME or just on W2k/XP? I'm a Linux user and run Biblioscape under Win4Lin 5, which can't emulate W2k/XP. So I'd be glad if the new Biblioscape could run under older versions of Windows ...

... until you release that Linux version. ;)

The future of BiblioScape

Dear all,

It has been almost two years I've been investing time and an enourmous amount of data in my BiblioScape Lite version, with over 600 references well organized. My PhD entire dissertation notes are also there and I can't wait to upgrade for Pro. I love this program so much it kept me away from buying a Mac and I even mannaged to get my university departement to install it too. I honestly hope to be able to use it for a long time in my career and I look forward to see its upcoming developments. (FYI I also posted suggestions for others to try it in almost every forum and mail network I have signed up. After a thorough review of many other alternatives, it still looks to me BiblioScape offers better flexibility and feature scope.

HOWEVER, I've been also concerned about the future of this software (project, entrepeneur, business...) and whether I should be investing that much on a program that might not keep up with the demand for developemtn, after all.

If you happen to know, could you please share some of the future prospects for BiblioScape, considering that version 7 is now being posponed again? What is happening? Is it going opensource, is it being totally redeveloped, is it out of breath? What should we expect in version 7? Is it for sale?

Thank you
