During the phase of research, you may have accumulated a lot of notes. When you start to write, you can easily transfer those notes into your word processor along with references linked to those notes.
Transfer notes by drag and drop
- In notes preview pane or notes editor, select the text you want to transfer.
- Hold down the Ctrl key and drag the selected text into your word processor document.
- Drop the selection at the desired position in your word processor.
If there are references linked to the note, the linked references will be added after the selected text in the form of temporary citations. For example, if reference "Smith, J. K. 2003" is linked to the note and the selected text is "This is my first transfer...". The dropped text will become "This is my first transfer... [Smith, J. K. 2003 #439]". When you link the note to a reference, if a page number is added to the link description field, Biblioscape will include the page number as Cited Page in the temporary citation. So the dropped text will become "This is my first transfer... [Smith, J. K. 2003 @23-25 #439]". Beware that the Cited Page will not be used unless the output style you selected supports cited page. If more than one reference is linked to the note, all will be included as multiple citations separated by " / ". For example: "This is my first transfer... [Smith, J. K. 2003 @23-25 #439 / Bowen, D. 2005 #390]".
Drag and drop text to a note
You can drag and drop text from other applications that supports inter-application drag and drop into a note. First, move the cursor position to the place you want the text to be dropped in Biblioscape note. Next, select the text in the other application, drag and drop it to Biblioscape note.

Adding temp citations to notes as footnotes
I use "*Chicago 15th A (notes)" as the citation style. When I insert temp citations in notes then copy text or copy the note, the temp citation is within the text. When formatting the document, the temp citations are converted to what should go to the footnote but within the text. Is there a way I can insert the temp citations in notes in footnotes or is there someway I can indicate that it is a footnote in the temp citation?
Perhaps you can later add the feature of footnotes in the notes editor or make it automatic that in case I am selecting a style that requires notes, temp citations in notes are indicated as footnotes.
I am suspecting better ideas will be included in the composition module. Looking forward to it.
In your word processor, you
In your word processor, you need to create a footnote, then copy and paste the note text (along with the temp citation) in Biblioscape to the footnote.
Page numbers in note-reference links?
Hi Paul,
Great job you guys are doing here. When you said "When you link the note to a reference, if a page number is added to the link description field, Biblioscape will include the page number as Cited Page in the temporary citation." does that mean I can just type the page numbers (as numbers only) in the link description and it will then be recognized as the citation page number?
Also, is there a way I can just add page numbers with temporary citations in notes? I see I can only do that in notes which are integrated within a reference, by clicking on this "p#" button. I cannot do that with other notes. Is there a shortcut key to the "P#" button?
Thanks very much.

Yes, do not forget to include @ sign before the page number.
You can add page number to any temp citation. Please read page http://support.biblioscape.com/node/632 for the details.
Drag & Drop not working
The drag and drop feature will be great but I cannot get it to work either with Word 2007 or WordPerfect 10.
Note, I have installed Biblioscape 7.1 and bsp7_patch.zip but help indicates ver 7.1; not 7.11. Has the new patch been put up?
