Running Ver 6 and 7.1

  1. Will it be possible to run both ver 6.6 and ver 7.1 after registering ver 7.2?
  2. Is there any way to run both ver 6.6 and ver 7.1 at the same time in different windows. That would be helpful during the transition period to make side by side comparisons of material that has been converted between the old and new database?

I am surprised but it does

I am surprised but it does not appear to be possible even though in my understanding the installations are independent. However, if one version of Biblioscape is running, the other refuses to start without warning. I would also be grateful for some clarification on this.

Bsc7 backup points to Bsc6 directory

I have installed Bsc6 in C:\Programme\Biblioscape6\ and Bsc7 in C:\Biblioscape7\ .
By calling "database - backup" in Bsc7, the contents of file C:\Biblioscape7\global\dbReOpen.txt
are changed into
C:\Biblioscape7\UserData\QuellenW\QuellenW.bsl
C:\Programme\Biblioscape6\UserData\QuellenW\backup
70
I however don't know whether this does any harm as Bsc7 seems not to have an own backup function.

You can open the *.bsl file

You can open the *.bsl file with notePad and change the second line for backup path. We recommend you use WinZip or other compression software to compress all the files under your database folder to backup.
