Importing problem

I have imported many references before but suddenly seem to have a problem today.  Using biblioscape I have found a reference on PubMed and tagged it MEDLINE (which as always worked before), then tried to import using the PubMed/Medline filter.  I keep getting an error message saying the file is not tagged properly or I'm not using the correct filter.  Any ideas??

Version 6

Paul,

I have version 6, and the info with the link says it's for version 7.  Will this matter?  I'm still having problems getting this to work.  Thanks.

Still having trouble

Sorry to keep being a bother but I can't get this to work, I'm sure it's something I'm not doing right.  I clicked on the link for the filter download and saved on my desktop.  When I opened the file there was not a known program so I chose to open it in Biblioscape, which took me to the internet window.  I clicked to download the filter again but I'm still getting the same message.  Can you please explain to me step by step what I should do to get this to work?  Thanks.

You need to import the

You need to import the import filter into Biblioscape by go to "File | Import Filters". Click the Import button and select the downloaded import fitler. There is a brief description about what to do with downloaded files at http://support.biblioscape.com/downloads.

PubMed recently made a small change to their MEDLINE display format. You need to get the updated import filter at http://support.biblioscape.com/node/38. The problem is explained in detail at http://support.biblioscape.com/node/646

Greetings Paul (or anyone

Greetings Paul (or anyone else who can offer advice!)...

I'm still muddling along in dealing with conversion from v 6 to 7.02. I'm having a problem similar to BICAT with downloading from PubMed. I downloaded the new import filter as above, and think I imported it properly into Bs 7 (no update date is shown, but your textual comment regarding the April 2007 change is visible). I also made sure my PubMed refs were in Medline format--tags were visible. I first tried importing directly from the clipboard (my preferred method, having done this many times with v6) and then tried exporting to a txt file (yes, it's still in tagged format) before attempting to import from that. The same error message appears, informing me that no refs were imported due to a problem with the file or the import filter.

What am I doing wrong? I also tried importing after reseting the categories tab, thinking this may by yet another symptom of my misunderstanding folders vs. categories.

I appreciate your efforts, but I'll admit it's been tough adjusting to v7--I'm not being very productive!!

Thanks in advance.

PubMed new display format

PubMed new display format caused some problems with the old import filter because when save the display as plain text file and copy the display content caused different number of white space added between tag letters and "-" sign. An updated import filter is available at http://support.biblioscape.com/node/38 to solve this problem.

Version 7.03 will solve the categories bug. It will be available soon.

Thanks
Paul
