Hi Paul,
I'm experiencing serious problems with Biblioscape this week. Until Monday everything was working fine (B6 and B7). Tuesday, I couldn't even open B6. The message was (I'm translating from German, I don't know how should it exactly read in English):
Biblioscape: Biblioscape.exe - Error in application
The instruction in "0x7c921c48" refers to memory in '0x000000f6'. The procedure 'read' could not be executed.
Click 'Ok', to close the program
Click 'Cancel' to debug it.
Neither Ok no Cancel would work. This message appeared when I tried to open B6, when we see the start logo from Biblioscape, user, ID, etc. B7 would freeze as well by starting, then I had to reboot the machine (ctrl+alt+del wouldn't work).
No B6/B7 tuesday and wednesday. Other MS applications also started to crash (Word, Outlook). Then one of the error reports from microsoft identified the cause: Adobe Acrobat (I have Adobe Acrobat Standard 7.0, German).
I re-installed Acrobat and the problems with the other programs apparently ceased.
I can open B6/b7 now, I can create/save references, but only the screen "All References" works. When I try search, notes, etc, I get the error message:
Access violation at adress 00971A39 in module 'Biblioscape.exe'. Read of adress 00000024.
I rebuilt the database but the problem persists. I have Windows XP SP2 (all updates). I have - apparently - no virus. Norton checked my system 6 times since tuesday, anda says the system is free from viruses, spyware, etc.
Can you identify the problem? What do you suggest: re-installing Biblioscape?
Thanks for helping, I'm quite desperate without my notes....
