My apologies if this has been discussed to death here, although I couldn't find the discussion. I've just got around to trying out the Alpha (verion 3) and I'm getting this message every time I try to do something. It's odd because the computer is brand new and I haven't tried Biblioscape 7 on it before (it's on a Vista platform, if that makes any difference). Do I need to buy a licence to test the alpha version?

The problem is caused by the new security features implemented in Vista. We will find a solution to it soon. When you install it, which folder did you unzip the files to. Please let me know the full path. Thanks.
Hi Paul -- the program files
Hi Paul -- the program files were unzipped to "C:\Data\Downloads\Applications\Biblioscape\Biblioscape 7 alphas\3\". It's not a protected directory as far as I know. The database files are in a similar kind of directory (also under C:\Data\). Does this help?
I just uploaded the beta 1.
I just uploaded the beta 1. Can you try it to see if you get the same problem? Thanks.
I've tried the new Beta, and
I've tried the new Beta, and the popup problem has gone away now. The beta looks great, by the way -- a real step forward from Biblioscape 6. Congratulations!

Hi
Pauls original announcement about the new beta release has gotten lost amongst the other discussions. Below is the post with the links to the beta that Paul posted (under "News and announcements")

Biblioscape 7 first beta release
Submitted by Paul Chen on Tue, 2007-03-27 15:55. News and announcements
Dear Biblioscape Users,
The first release of Biblioscape 7 beta version has been made available at http://www.biblioexpress.com/bsp7.exe. For a more detailed description of Biblioscape 7 beta release, please go to http://support.biblioscape.com/node/276.
Installation: For the beta release, we didn't package files inside a standard Windows installer. Instead, all required files are inside a self-extracting WinZip file. You can just run bsp7.exe and unzip it to an empty folder. To run it, double click the Biblioscape.exe file. To remove it, delete the Biblioscape folder.
History: Since the development is still in the beta stage, we will not give a detailed bug fix list and minor feature improvements list. We will do that after a formal release. This release fixed all the bugs reported at the beta forum (http://support.biblioscape.com/forum/36).
Upgrade: If you have already installed a previous alpha or beta release, please delete the "Biblioscape 7 Beta" folder first before running the installation. If you want to use a database created with Biblioscape 5 or 6, please read the Upgrade section at http://support.biblioscape.com/node/276 for the details. If you have an earlier Biblioscape 7 alpha or beta release, You can no longer open the database created with earlier alpha or beta release. You have to do the upgrade conversion of version 5 and 6 databases again.
Support: You are welcome to make suggestions and report bugs at the Biblioscape Beta forum (http://support.biblioscape.com/forum/36). We prefer you use the forum instead of email for bug reports and feature requests, so our communication can benefit others and provoke further feedbacks. Please post all issues with running alpha and beta releases at the Beta forum instead of other forums.
Thanks, Darren. Hugh
