hello, i upgraded to Word 2007 with a new computer, and began integration with Biblioscape 6.6. some different results came up:
1. while Word 2007 indicated that it had successfully converted the Bib_Word macros, and Bib commands appeared in the "Add-in" menus, when i try formatting a manuscript it is only able to change the in-text citations and is unable to complete the operation by generating the bibliography. a message pops up saying that it is out of memory. then the Visual Basic window pops up asking to debug...since i don't know this i don't start the VB debugger. this leaves me with the document with in-text citations but without a bibliography.
2. i tried saving the file to RTF, and then doing the formating completely within Biblioscape with Word off. after finishing the conversion, Bib asks if i want to open the converted document. when Word 2007 opens, it shows only in-text citations, and without the bibliography.
3. when i don't open the converted document automatically, and then open it with BiblioWord, it shows the bibliography in BiblioWord.
This seems to be a Word 2007 macro issue?
Has any noticed that in
Has any noticed that in Word 2007 Biblioscape creates new files of the word document each time the document is formatted then unformatted. I can send up with a something like this. I do not have this problem with Word 2003. There should be just one original Word doc and a backup, just like it does with Word 2003.
name.doc
name.doc.doc
name.doc.doc.doc
name.doc.doc.doc.doc
Incidently, when is Biblioscape going to drop using RTFs altogether when someone is using MS Word?

Not sure about this. But better Word integration and support for Word 2007 is what we want to do next.

This occasionally happens to me when formatting RTF files with Biblioscape 5.4 too. I think it has something to do with how the RTF document is formatted. Having a blank line (hard return) at the end of the document seems to help.

It sounds like a problem
It sounds like a problem with Word 2007 openning RTF document. Could you try to open the same rtf file using an earlier version of Word? I will also look into this. Thanks.
Sorry -- I hadn't seen this
Sorry -- I hadn't seen this posting when I added my workaround notes in another thread. WordPad seems to be able to fix whatever the problem is when Word 2007 saves files as RTF. So it does look as if there's something different about the way Word 2007 creates RTF files.
The Word 2007 rtf problem is
The Word 2007 rtf problem is fixed in version 7 beta 2. Thanks.
The Word 2007 rtf problem
Dear Paul and all,
Do you plan to fix the word 2007 rtf problem in BS 6 also (up to now, BS 6 works fine for me) ?
I cannot imagine to save my files in rtf under word2007, load them in word 2003 (which I should keep for this sole task) and reload them to word 2007 once the formatting process was completed.
Than you in advance for your response.
Nicolas
Once the next major release
Once the next major release becomes available, we usually do not work on the last major release. We only work on minor releases for the current major release. Thanks.
Hello, sorry for
Hello, sorry for disappearing like that. Thanks for the info on the fix. It's only now that I am to start using the program extensively.
Problem with Word 2007
I followed the instructions in one of the posts in the this thread and installed Biblioscape into Word. Worked fine the first time. The second time I opened the same document I get an error related to running the macro. I have tried every solution suggested by Word help to fix the problem and no luck. I also tried opening another document to see if it was the document giving the problem and I received the same error message. Suggestions?
Thank you,
Allen
Allen, What is the exact
Allen, What is the exact error message? Thanks, Paul
Problem with Word 2007
Paul -
Sorry for the delay in responding. After working once I get the message "The macro cannot be found or is disabled because of your macro security settings." I have placed the biblioscape directory into the list of trusted directories and the executable file in the list of trused macros to no avail.
Thanks,
Allen
In the Word Macro security
In the Word Macro security settings, check the box to trust all installed template. There is no need to add Biblioscape executable to the trusted directory. Thanks, Paul
