Page Capture - Internet Module

Hi again Paul

Apologies for posting all over the place. I put aside today to test the beta version properlly as I would when I work in both English and Japanese and am posting as each issue comes up.

The problem that occurs for both the beta version and version 6 of Biblioscape when I use the "capture page" in the Internet Module. I go to, for example, the Asahi Shimbun newspaper database, find a article which is displayed in Japanese on the screen. However, when I select the capture page button and try to save the page "as a reference" saved to what is saved is not Japanese but an strange characters that do not make sense.

I look, again, forward to your comments.

Is your Windows default

Is your Windows default language set to Japanese? Thanks.

Default is Japanese

I am using Japanese OS XP SP2. So the default is Japanese for the whole system including IE. I can type in Japanese in such modules as reference and abstract, and it will appear in Japanese. However, both when I type directly in Japanese and copy and paste Japanese in the notes module I get the garbled characters. I also note I get garbled characters when I type in the document page.

One big difference I notice when this happens is that in the reference window, when I type in Japanese the Japanese I am typing appears directly where I am typing at the cursor. However, for the notes and document windows, when I type, what I type appears at the bottom of the window. When I press enter, the characters go to where the cursor is in the window but are garbled and not Japanese

I do not knowwhat the problem is.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

For CJK (Chinese Japanese

For CJK (Chinese Japanese Korean) users, please go to the "Tools | Options" window "Format Manuscript" tab and have the box "Format double byte language" checked. Then Biblioscape will use a different rich text control that works with CJK.
