Undo

For me, Undo command (CTRL Z) in v 9.0.6.0 works strangely in Edit Reference window. Sometimes it works by eliminating one last change only. Sometime it does not work at all. It works in some fields but not in others. Something seems broken.

Can we please have multiple Undo reliably working in all Edit reference fields (presuming this is the intention of the developers - if not, we need other safety measures in place).

Thanks.

The Undo only works when you are in the same field. When you leave one field (for example Title) to another field. You cannot undo changes made in the last field.

Thank you for the explanation. Good to understand the intent. This is pretty constraining though but could be OK if combined with a possibility to cancel all changes.

However, I just tried adding a keyword using auto-complete and then undoing in the same field and it does not work. ??

It only works right after you add a lookup by press Enter. If you type anything after that, the undo will not let you remove the keyword but the last letters.

I see now. But do you agree that this is very limiting? If the user has a complicated entry they do not want to lose, they need to be able to return to the original in this or other way.

I agree is it limiting and a multi-step undo will be better. We will see if the Cancel button should be added. We want to get more feedback.

A Cancel button would be an OK compromise (but still not as convenient as v8 implementation, in my opinion). I am not sure where you are getting your feedback from because we have discussed this in relationship to v8 and the agreement was to implement explicit save and the possibility to cancel changes. So, it is a surprise that this needs to be rediscussed.

I don't think it is a good idea to prompt user to save when a record is closed. We want to listen to more feedback to decide how to implement the Cancel.

I think if the user explicitly clicks the save button, a prompt is not needed. If the user clicks the X in the upper right corner a prompt should be provided. I miss the X button from v-8, which was for "discard" changes.

Default silent save if the

Default silent save if the cross or similar is available would be fine, I agree.
