Corrupt web_log.IDX crashes the program

Hello Paul,

In the last couple of weeks we have been having problems with sudden crashes of Biblioscape/Web as we are entering references. When I go onto the server to restart the program, it gives me the error message "DBISAM Engine Error #9217 Error reading from the table C: Biblioscape 8\biblioweb\...\Global\web_log.IDX." Occasionally the error message says that web_log.IDX and web_log.DAT have corrupt headers. The only way to restart the program is to copy and paste the web_log files that were in the original Biblioscape 8 download into my customized Bib 8 files, but then the program crashes again a few hours later. What's the problem?

You can quit Biblioscape and

You can quit Biblioscape and BiblioWeb. Run "...\Biblioscape x\Tools\Rebuild.exe" and click the "Rebuild Global" button. You can also run BiblioWeb, check off the box "Keep log". In Biblioscape 9, BiblioWeb is rebuilt from scratch. Paul

Hello Paul,

I attempted to rebuild Global and it gave me the error message "DBISAM Engine Error #11013 Access denied to table C:Biblioscape 8\global\bib_type.DAT"

I did open Biblioweb, unchecked the "keep log" box, and the program restarted. We will see if that solves the problem. The above error message worries me, however. Why can't I rebuild Global?

When you rebuild a database,

When you rebuild a database, the program needs exclusive access. So you need to quit Biblioscape and BiblioWeb first. Did you stop BiblioWeb?
