Dear Paul,
Opening my databases produces the following error message: Table_bib_main_scan: Field " not found. It is not solved by rebuilding the databases. The databases cannot open and the program is inoperable.
Do I need to reinstall the program at this point?
[The problem refers to the program installed on my local machine and not the version that we have on our server.]
In hopes of a speedy resolution,
Bill
The first thing to try:
The first thing to try: delete everything under "...\Index\" folder. If not work, please zip all the files under your database folder and email me the zip.
follow up
Thanks for the response, Paul. Unfortunately the \Index\ delete has no effect.
I asume you need all files in the database folder (i.e., with .bsl file) but NOT the Attachments subfolder (which itself is 10 GB). Two questions:
I have two databases, neither of which is operable. Do you need both?
The zipped file of my main db is still 20 MB, which isn't going through to you because of the size. Is there an ftp or some other way I can get it to you?

Bill
No, I don't need the
No, I don't need the attachment folder. Sorry, we don't have a ftp server. If you can't find a http or ftp server to upload it, you can create a new forum posting and add the file as an attachment.
program repair
Paul,
I've put the files for the two db for the time being at
more on error message | Table_bib_main_scan: Field " not found
Paul,
I can now provide more information on this error message, which persists even after a program reinstall. It seems to be related to the output filters and formatted preview--and especially to those output filters that include notes. Thus, everything works fine with all output filters except MLA (Notes) Turabian (Notes), Chicago (Notes), and Show All. In formatted preview when I scroll to any of those, the error message appears. When I scroll again to another non-note filter, it doesn't appear and the program works. This seems to be true no matter what Reference Type I am highlighting.

Bill
This is very helpfule.
This is very helpfule. Unfortunately, I no longer have your database to test this. Could you make it available again? When you reinstall, did you delete the Biblioscape root folder manually after running uninstaller?
Here it is again, Paul.
Here it is again, Paul. Thanks.
\\research.yale.edu\wwkelly\wwkelly_html\Biblioscape_db
And I did not manually delete the root folder after running the uninstaller, although I checked to see that it was was empty of files. Is that a problem?
Regards,
Bill
Bill, I downloaded your DB
Bill, I downloaded your DB again and tested with those notes styles in preview display. But I don't get any error message. So I think the problem is with some setup files. The root folder may be empty of files. But there may be files under some sub-folders. Could you do another clean reinstall? Make sure you delete the root folder after running the uninstaller. Thanks.
