pathnames for attachements

I need some information concerning de way biblioscape identified the attached files. does it use a literal pathname or a relative pathname to find the attachments. I ask this question because I have some problems (attachments are lost) when I try to move my data base from one computer to another.

Does any one can help me?

When a new database is

When a new database is created, an "attachment" folder is created under the database folder. If you put the attachment files are from that folder, relative path will be used. When you move the database from one computer to another, the path won't be broken. Otherwise, full path will be used.

All my attachment files are

All my attachment files are in the subfolders of the “attachment” folder. But in my case Biblioscape never inserts relative paths if I Browse to these files, only absolute. Same happens in the “attachment” folder itself. It is not a big deal as the paths are editable and I just paste the correct relative paths in. Still, it would be nice to have this fixed…

The relative path support is

The relative path support is added to one of the 6.x patch release in June 2004. Which version of Biblioscape are you running?

6.6

After you click the browse

After you click the browse button and pick a file, the full path is displayed. But when Biblioscape save the record, if the file is under "attachment", relative path will be used.

I see. Somewhat

I see. Somewhat counterintuitive maybe, but it does work as you describe. Thank you.
