Change location of attachments folder

While I prefer to use Biblioscape I have a need to use Endnotes at tehUNoiversoty for a limited number of tasks.

I want to have the one attachments directory for both programs.

To help in the managment of my PDF copy of articles I want to change the location of Bblioscpaes attachment folder. Is ther a way of doing this?

Thanks

Stephen

Stephen, if you want to

Stephen, if you want to change for all the references, you have to go to "References | Retrieve All" first. Then go to "Edit | Replace". Limit the operation to the "Attachment" field and enter the "Find" and "Replace" value accordingly.

I just migrated to v9 and this was one of my problems. Since v9 requires particular file locations, I had to change my attachments folder. I had been using 'Attachment' and changed to the biblioscape standard 'attachments'. The find and replace produced an error (access violation) but I only have a few hundred references so amended manually. I don't know if others will have the same problem or whether it was because, in my case, the field name and the text to be replaced was identical.

At which step you get the

At which step you get the first error message. Can you zip all the files under your database folder and email me the zip? Let me know what you did step by step. I will try to reproduce the problem. Thanks, Paul

I did the change manually so

I did the change manually so zipping you my database won't help. The error message appeared as soon as I pressed the 'replace all' button.

However, I just successfully did a search/replace as a test (including back to my original folder path, and then back again) so I'm not sure what went wrong. I think I didn't 'retrieve all' first so maybe it was focussed on a record.

If you didn't retrieve all

If you didn't retrieve all first, the operation will be limited to records in the current list. That should not be the cause. Let me know if you get this again and exact steps to reproduce it. Thanks, Paul
