Hi Paul,
OS = XP SP3
BS = 8.05
I have lost my main menu bar. When I look at customize menu screen the main menu selection box is shaded but there is no tick in it. I loaded a trial veiosn on my lap top and checked == the main menu is there & in meu customize their is ashaded seletion box for Main Menu but it has a tick.
How do I get the Main Menu option re-selected?
I have already tried:
- rebooting
- reloading BS
- rebuilding
- etc
I suspect it is a registry issue but I know little about these options.
Thanks
Stephen
Please try the following: 1.
Please try the following:
1. Go to Windows "Start | Run".
2. Enter "regedit" and click OK button.
3. On the left panel go to "HKEY_CURRENT_USER | Software | CG Information | Biblioscape 8x | MenuBars".
4. Delete the entry "MenuBars" along with all its children.
5. Close the regedit window.
Main menu gone -- too
My main menu also has disappeared, running under Win 7. I tried the remedy given for XP (removing the "main menu" entry from Windows Registry) but it does not appear to have any effect on my system --- still no main menu.
It should work under Windows
It should work under Windows 7 too. Can you show me a screenshot?
Screen shots
Because I don't see a way to attach files in the forum, I'm sending them separately by e-mail.
(Note that Biblioscape shows as unregistered because I tried reinstalling and now cannot enter the registration information without access to main menu Help.)
I have not received your
I have not received your email. Please quit Biblioscape and try the above suggestion again and also replace the content of "...\Biblioscape x\Global\toolbars.ini" with "...\Biblioscape x\Global\toolbars_backup.ini". Then restart Biblioscape.
Re-sent, re-tried with no success
I sent the screenshots again to support@biblioscape.com . If that is not the right address, I need to know where to send it.
I tried your suggestion again, in that I checked to ensure that the registry had not somehow changed, and tried substituting the .ini file, but this had no visible effect.
I got your screenshot. In
I got your screenshot. In the registry, you still have "MenuBars802" not deleted. Please quit Biblioscape. Delete that registry entry and restart Biblioscape.
Problem solved -- sort of
Last night self-smashing Windows 7 crashed and could not restart after it was "updated". Now that I have it restored, Biblioscape seems to start with the menu bar in place.
I will be sending you a requrest for a new registration, as the restoration of the OS seems to have invalidated the old one.
Thanks Paul - appreciate the
