I need to add the Journal field to the table for selecting a reference to link to. Right clicking on the field bar and clicking "Field Chooser," a "Customize" dialog box pops up. It has "Journal/Secondary Title" as a choice. Clicking that choice has no effect, and the box stays open unless I click "X" to close it. There is no "OK" button.
It seems the desired function is programmed in, but not functioning properly. Can you please fix it?
HOW TO REPLICATE THIS:
1. Open a reference record and click the Links tab.
2. Click Add Link, and then Link to Reference.
3. Right click on the fields bar, and do as described above.
PROBLEM AND NEED:
When linking references I commonly come with several records for a particular author in the same year, with papers of similar subjects in the title. Unless I can also see the journal name, it is a real crap shoot as to which paper is the link I wish to make. Because I have a very large collection of papers, this problem is occurring frequently.
No Problem for what you have
No Problem for what you have mentioned! Actually, I followed those steps mentioned above. In the link to reference choice table, I could note that the "Journal/Secondary Title" table has been added in the reference list. I also can re-list my references freely according to this table. So this choice works very well for me!
Hope it helps.

Does the "Customize" box close when you click on the choice? It doesn't for me, and when I click the "X" to close the box, my highlighted choice does not take effect.

The "Customize" box doest not close when I click on the choice. Here is the steps

First, click "Create links" for a reference, then choose "Link to reference". You maybe see many reference items in some reference folder of yours. Next, click any reference you want to create a link, then right click with your mouse, choose the "Field Chooser" choice and drag-and-drop the choice into your reference table. And then you should see the "Journal/Secondary Title" table has been added.
ps: also, I can add other tables such as Read. The "Customize" box doest not close when I click on the choice. Here is the steps

Fantastic. Thanks, Espresso!
I had no idea that drag-&-drop could change a field like that.
