Paul,
In the drop-down Categories List of the dialog box to Create a Link to Note, it appears that only one category can be chosen at a time. If one wants to choose several categories this is very time-consuming. Would it be possible to add a function analogous to the Windows convention, enabling the user to use the control key +mouse click to choose several categories in the drop-down list? That would be a great addition.
I assume you refer to the
I assume you refer to the combobox on the "Topic Maps" tab of the link creation window. The category is used to define link type and scope, only one category can be used.
Not sure we are talking about the same box
Paul,
I do not think we are talking about the same place. Sorry for my lack of clarity. Here are the steps to get to the place I have in mind.
1. Open a reference.
2. Click taking notes tab.
3. Click new note.
4. A box appears with the label "Create a Linked Note."
5. At the bottom left of that box is a place (white empty space) to enter information. It is labeled labeled: Categories and includes a downward pointing triangle symbol to call up a drop down list.
6. Press the down pointing triangle and it opens a list of categories.
7. Only one category can be chosen at a time which is then entered in the field (white entry space) to the right of the space labeled categories. Additional categories can be added, but only one at a time which requires re-opening the drop-down list and scrolling to the appropriate category for each additional instance.
8. My question/suggestion: would it be possible to add a function analogous to the Windows convention to use the control key + mouse click to choose several categories at once in the drop-down list.
Sorry if that is what you are answering but I don't see anything here that I recognized as having to do with “topic maps.” The problem may be that I don't understand the architecture adequately.

Dr. Robert Masson, We were talking about different things. I now know what you want. The combo box control used doesn't allow multi-item selection. We in the next major release, we will see if it is possible to use other kind of control that allow multi-item selection. Thanks, Paul
