I'm curious. Why does Biblioscape lose its registration detals whenever it is restored from a back-up on to the same machine?
I decided to try the MSOffice 2010 beta. Despite Microsoft's reommendation to use the 32 bit version, I tried to install their 64 bit version, since this is a new 64-bit computer and runs W7 64 bit.
So then Office wouldn't install completely, or subsequently uninstall what had installed. I discovered this was a MS problem.
So I reinstalled the OS after zipping my database to a USB key (using WinZip 14).
Then I recreated a new empty C:\Biblioscape 8 folder and unzipped bsp8.exe into the empty folder.
Then I unzipped my database folder into the My Documents folder, where it usually resides.
I opened the database in Biblioscape and it opened fine. I checked the registration details and yes, it said registered to AaldersN but the machine number had changed.
I closed Biblioscape and repoened it. Now it had gone back into trial user mode.
So yet again, I need another registration key.
Is it not possible to tie the machine number to the computer's MAC number, so it knows it is going into the same machine, without having to keep asking for a new key?
But a new key will be welcome, anyway. The new machine ID is 883304527
Many thanks,
Nick Aalders
