I am having two difficulties with the right-hand Categories pane.

1. Awkward behavior the Categories in the right pane.

When I open a reference record and click the Categories tab for the right-hand pane, the entry in the small box at the top of the pane is highlighted.

If I hover the mouse over the categories list below that, the contents of the box scrolls, instead of the list, and different category lists are displayed. This, however, is never the action I want when I do that, and in fact rarely change the content of the box. That's awkwardness #1.

Awkwardness #2 is that when I get back to displaying the categories list that was originally shown (which is almost always the list I want to use), the whole tree is opened up, showing all of the child folders. Since my category system is large and complicated, this is a distracting mess. This shouldn't happen in the first place, and there seems to be no way to close all of the child folders.

PROPOSED SOLUTION: (1) The box should not be highlighted when the Categories tab is activated. If the mouse is hovered over the box, the contents of the box should scroll. If the mouse is hovered over the list, the list should scroll. (2) The list should not fully open automatically, and a button should be provided for the user to toggle between having the list opened and closed (showing just the parent folders of what is displayed in the box).

2. Categories pane behavior changed -- how to fix it?

I experimented in the Sample database with what would happen if I press the Del key when the Categories box is highlighted. Nothing happened overtly. But now when in my working database, when I click the Categories tab the box and the list are both blank. It have to find the correct Category container in the box to see my list, and Biblioscape no longer remembers that that is where I was last time. Every time I open a record now, I have that blank categories pane, and this happens in every Biblioscape session.

How can I restore the previous behavior of the program remembering which category list was displayed the previous time?
