Biblioscape imports initial of author's first name and not the whole name into database. How do I change to importing full name

Hi Paul,

I have noticed that Biblioscape only displays the first initial of author, second author, and editors names when it is imported into my database. I do try to change this manually but would like to see how I can change the filter to capture this information in order to make this function automate. I want to have full record of first and last name for each reference. Can you walk me through the steps of how to achieve this?

Thanks

Jim

What is the data source you

What is the data source you were trying to import from? Can you post a sample record in the file you were trying to import?

Paul, It's hard to pinpoint

Paul,

It's hard to pinpoint this as it does not occur each time I import. For example, it does not occur usually when I import from Ebsco. I just realized that the sources I imported from Google-Scholar citation to be imported from google-scholar shows only the initial in the listing. So, that's a google-scholar display issue separate from biblioscape. This might be something that I have to live with as Biblioscape will not have the ability to pull data from pdfs (which is a workaround) until the next version of Biblioscape. Excellent idea by the way, pulling information directly from pdfs would be very beneficial. When you program that feature I would suggest that you provide an option for automatically attaching that file or creation of a link to that pdf.

Thanks

Jim
