When one drags a note or reference to the task module it is automatically created as a "phone message." It would be more helpful if the creation of the new task inherited the "task type" from the previously created task. This is the way it works with the creation of new tasks and is a timesaver.
I cannot reproduce hte
I cannot reproduce hte "Phone Message" problem. When I create a new task by drag and drop, no task type is assigned.
Just tried it again
Paul,
I just tried it again. Same result. But with some interesting permutations.
I have found that if I use the Live Preview panel to delete the Task Type so it is blank (then open and save that task) I will then show the task with task icon and the task type blank. Now that I have done that I can create tasks using the create “New Task” command that are blank and show that task icon (red check mark). But these are not inherited when I use drag and drop. I think you might be able to reproduce the problem if you first open some new notes as phone messages and then use drag and drop.

Further note
Paul,
I have just noticed that the tasks which I created last night using the drop and drag method show the telephone message icon in the list panel even though the "task type" is blank in the preview panel. So the problem seems to be with the icons in the "list" panel. I can make the "task type" blank in the preview panel, but that will not change the icon in the list panel. In the task window, the checkmark icon is not an option. If any of the other icons has been chosen and the task saved, when you open the task panel there is no way to choose a blank task type or a task type indicated by the checkmark icon. The only way to change the task type is to use the preview panel. But again, that does not change the icon which shows in the list panel.

I have uploaded a patch at
I have uploaded a patch at http://www.biblioscape.com/download/bsp8_patch.zip. Please give it a test. A new "--Blank--" option is added to the Task Type box.
That improves things much but
Paul,
Thanks. That improves things much. It would be better if drag and drop would inherit the previously used icon. (That works fine now for tasks created with the New Task command, but not for drag and drop.) But it is now just one click to change the task type to Blank.
