Hello,
New user here - I'm not sure that this qualifies as a support question, I am just trying to learn how to use Biblioscape efficiently.
I have a large number of pdf references on my hard drive. I would like to add them to Biblioscape. I have used Zotero to develop reference entries for many of them using PDF metadata, but those are in Zotero, and Zotero did not find reference information for all of them.
Any ideas how to efficiently add my existing library to Biblioscape? Do I have to open each one up in Adobe, look up the reference using the internal browser, and import it into the db? And then how do I link to the existing file on my hard drive?
Thanks for the help,
Marie
Biblioscape cannot extract
Biblioscape cannot extract metadata from a PDF file (plan to add this in future release). But you can quickly add a reference by typing the fast author name and publication year, plus couple of words in the title. Please see: http://biblioscape.com/manual_v8/adding_reference_by_quick_add.htm
You can put all the PDF files under the "Attachments" folder that is under your Biblioscape database folder. Click the "Attachment" field of each reference and attach the PDF file under the "Attachments" folder.
You mean that I have to do
You mean that I have to do this one by one? It is nearly impossible when you have lots of files? It there any easier way even if the imformation of the references maybe lost?
The current version of
The current version of Biblioscape cannot automatically extract metadata from a PDF file. This feature is planned for future release.
