My question is not about Word 2007 integration. It is about exporting B8 database in a format that can be imported by Word 2007 Sources Manager. I tried xml, bib, csv, rtf but Word Sources Manager was not able to read any of these files. If I want to use Word 2007 Bibliography features with Biblioscape database, what is the format I should export from Biblioscape? Does the OSDB has anything to do with it? This might be a question for Microsoft support, but I thought I could start from here. Thank you so much.
There is a free utility
There is a free utility program that can convert BibTeX to the xml format that Word can import: http://bib2word07xml.codeplex.com/
.bib to .xml conversion
After many attempts following the instructions at http://bib2word07xml.codeplex.com/ , I found myself incapable of making this work. FYI, among all the syntaxes used this was my last one in command prompt at the directory where Bib2Word2007Xml.exe is:
C:\Users\Fernando J. Soares\Software\BibToWord\Bib2Word2007Xml.exe
The error message I get is:
< was unexpected at this time
In addition, I tried to change the order of the signs, where to add or delete spaces between words, file names and so on in order to guess the proper sintax, but in all attempts I got either of these three error messages:
- The syntax of the command is incorrect
- 'Bib2Word2007Xml.exe' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file
- The system cannot find the file specified
After exporting my database using BibTex I found rather odd that the file B8Refs.bib has only 448kb.
Please, advise.
Thank you so much for your notes.
Fernando
I have not used the program
I have not used the program before. But have you tried go to the directory "Bib2Word" first and then just type Bib2Word2007xml.exe? In DOS, you can use "cd Users" to go to another directly. Use "cd .." to go to the parent directory.
Yes, I did all of that, but
Yes, I did all of that, but never mind. I will be waiting for developments either side (Biblioscape, Word) to simplify the integration either by allowing .bib .xml conversion, or by adding a B8 macro on Word that does the trick. For now I fixed the problem retyping 61 references into Word Sources Manager.
Thank you so much.
