problems in editing records in served versoin

Dear Paul,

Thank you for your previous help with our served Biblioscape database. I still have two problems.

(1) When I open up a record in my browser (Firefox 1.5) with the "edit" button and edit a field, on closing I get the following error message:

"The database owner only allow the user who created the record to Edit or Delete it. The record involved here (Ref. ID = 306) was created by . You are not allowed to delete or edit it, unless you have super user privilege."

I don't know what "super user privilege" means. I have administrator privileges for Biblioscape and this share of our server, which I assumed would allow me to edit all records in the data base. Some of the records were entered by my research assistant, but I need a way to be able to open and edit them myself.

(2) All my records have an attached pdf file, and all pdf's are in an Attachments subfolder in the folder under Biblioweb that contains the bsl file. When I open a record in the browser, the Attachments line does have an active hyperlink, but the link produces a 404. The problem may be that the link location is incorrect. At present it is (for example) http://media1.its.yale.edu:8002/Attachments/NYT_1920-0629.pdf

What is the correct syntax for the link to actually open the pdf?

Thanks,

Bill

Bill,1. When you log in

Bill,

1. When you log in using your web browser, please make sure the login account has "admin" privilege.

2. Please put the database folder under the "...\Biblioscape 6\BiblioWeb\" folder. Then the link should work. Please also make sure you have the latest patch installed.

Thanks,
Paul
