Importing into the catalog

Good day,

I hope I am now posting to the correct forum for my query. I would like to import hundreds of records from an old InMagic catalog into my new catalog. I understand from Mr. Chen that after importing all records into the references module you simply select the records and go to: References | To other module | Copy to catalog.

Unfortunately, I am not seeing this menu or any of these options in my toolbars. Please advise! I have been trying with no success to move my library from two catalogs to one for almost 2 1/2 years now. I am almost at the point of reverting back to InMagic.

Thank you for your assistance,

Rebecca

Rebecca, it is in the menu

Rebecca, it is in the menu "References | To Other Modules".

Phew!

Okay! That hurdle has been overcome. I am now at the stage whereby I need to match my fields appropriately for filtering.

Below is a chart of how I need my fields to match and the trouble I'm having with them. Because of the in-between import step into the reference module I'm having a lot of information loss in the catalog despite the fact that the import does basically work.

The following link

The following link (http://support.biblioscape.com/node/181) shows how data are mapped when records are transfered from References module to Catalog module. The following fields in catalog table are not mapped to any field in reference table.

Class
Copy
Responsibility
Series
Date_cat
Order_type
Supplier
Price_list
Cost_actual
Order_notes
Holdings
Frequency
Special_issue
Code
Policy
Policy_serial

I would like to hear how you want these fields mapped to reference table. So we can improve the transfer process in version 7.x. Thanks.
