Is Biblioscape compatible with Speech Recognition Programs such as Dragon Naturally Speaking

Hola,

I am starting to use speech recognition software to cut down on time and find it is a better way to organize my thoughts. I am hoping that I can use this function when taking notes within biblioscape. Is Dragon Naturally Speaking Preferred Edition a compatible with Biblio 8?

I have not tried this. I

I have not tried this. I guess it will because speech recognition software is supposed to work with all Windows programs.

I have used it extensively

I have used Dragon naturally speaking extensively with Biblioscape for several years now. I'm using it at this moment. It works in Biblioscape as a non-compliant program. That means that many of the ordinary dictation functions will not work, but most of the basic ones will.
A major difficulty is that if you dictate an entry into the fields for a reference (in a new reference) and then tab to the next field, the previous insertion disappears. I have found a workaround; after making an entry, I hit the space bar. Once you've made a physical entry, the insertion "sticks." Nearly all the time that trailing space is eliminated by Biblioscape, so this generally works.
When entering a new note, the above procedure has to be followed for the note title to "stick." However, entering information in the body of the note does not require this and the dictation program is a little bit more compliant. Some Dragon commands will work but many of the "select and say" commands do not work. If I have long bits of dictation, I generally do them in Word and then paste into Biblioscape.
Not sure what it would take to make the program more compliant. It would be a great feature if it could be added. But in the meantime it is still a time saver despite the necessity of some workarounds.
Good luck.
