I'm having a strange problem with Biblioscape's internal browser when using pubmed. When viewing a reference, when I try to switch to 'medline' view, I get bounced back to the entry point for pubmed. My stand-alone internet explorer does not do this. I've tried configuring IE to always accept cookies from pubmed, but this doesn't seem to help, either. This is preventing me from directly importing references from within biblioscape. It seems like I've been having this problem for awhile, but it finally got annoying enough to write in. Any suggestions?
Bob
p.s. to be more precise, I navigate to pubmed from biblioscape. I enter a search from the main page of pubmed (say 'neural network'). On the page that lists my results, I go to 'display' and choose 'medline'. Instead of displaying the list in medline format, i get bounced back to the front page of pubmed. This occurs whether I'm viewing a list of results or a single reference. It also occurs with other display commands (number of results, etc), but not with the 'send to clipboard' command.
Some users have reported
Some users have reported this problem before. I can't reproduce it. Some users said if they completly remove Biblioscape and reinstall it, the problem will go away. This suggests there might be a file created by IE ActiveX control under Biblioscape root or sub-folder and caused this problem. Since I can't reproduce this, I have no place to look for such a file.
This PubMed display problem is fixed in version 7
Klaus sent me the whole Biblioscape installation to reproduce the bug. Once I can reproduce it, the cause of this problem is found and fixed in version 7. For users of early releases, please open the "...\Biblioscape x\Global\webAddr.txt" and delete the entry:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?CMD=Display&DB=pubmed
in the file "webAddr.txt".
Thanks
This fix works great; much appreciated. Any news on the release of v7?
