The patch can be downloaded at http://www.biblioscape.com/download/bsp8_patch.zip. The above URL always contains the latest patch which includes all the earlier 8.x patches. Please quit Biblioscape first and unzip the downloaded file to your Biblioscape installation folder to replace the old files. Here is the list of bugs fixed and new features added.
Version 8.05
- Bug fix (2010-03-24): In the references module, Quick Add stopped working.
- Bug fix (2009-12-29): When the system date format is changed under Windows control panel, deleting a folder or collection will generate date format not valid error message.
Version 8.04
- Bug fix (2009-10-27): In the references module, when editing an output style, if the reference list sort field is changed to "Other Field", Biblioscape generate table_bib_main_scan field "" not found error.
- Bug fix (2009-09-21): In the record window, when adding a new category on the Categories tab, existing check marks are removed.
- Bug fix (2009-08-17): Lookup doesn't work under Tasks, Charts, and Categories modules.
- Bug fix (2009-08-13): When formatting references inside WordPerfect, Biblioscape generates an error.
- Bug fix (2009-08-13): When capturing a web page as a reference or note, the last opened folder is not used.
Version 8.03
- Improvement (2009-07-22): The way Google Scholar search hit are captured into Biblioscape has changed. It is now possible to capture individual hit directly into Biblioscape instead of capturing hits in a batch of 10.
Version 8.02
- Bug fix (2009-06-29): Copy shortcut Ctrl+C doesn't work when copy selected text in the URL tab of the references module.
- Bug fix (2009-06-29): After adding a link, the link counter is updated.
- Improvement (2009-06-29): When adding a link, the "Add Link" button is now moved to the top of the screen next to the Close button.
- New feature (2009-06-21): In the record window, a new button is added to the status bar that will take user to the folder where the record resides and jump to the position of the record.
- Bug fix (2009-06-17): In the references module, clicking on the column header doesn't sort references list correctly when the list is in the "Retrieve All" mode.
- Bug fix (2009-06-17): In the references module, lookup list is now case insensitive.
- Bug fix (2009-06-16): In BiblioWeb, only folders will be shown. Collections and Smart Collections will not be displayed.
- Bug fix (2009-06-15): In the composition module, using Quick Add generate an Access Violation error.
- Bug fix (2009-06-15): When there is no record under a folder, clicking the item up (Ctrl+Up) and down (Ctrl+Down) keys will generate Access Violation error.
- Bug fix (2009-06-14): In a reference style, if the field "Document" is added, the font of document field text cannot be preserved.
- Bug fix (2009-06-14): In the User Defined tab of the reference editor, new fields added in version 8 are not included.
- Bug fix (2009-06-14): When deleting the first record in the Recycle Bin, Biblioscape generates Access Violation error.
Version 8.01
- Bug fix (2009-05-20): When rename a category by just changing its case, Biblioscape will freeze if this category has been used to tag records.
- Bug fix: When adding a references collection, Biblioscape generates an Access Violation error.
- Bug fix: Import filters exported from earlier versions cannot be imported into version 8.
- Bug fix: When coverting version 6 database to version 8 format, if there are special characters in the Authors and Title fields, the conversion will not complete.
- Bug fix: When there is no record in a references folder, Quick Add doesn't add record to it. It adds the record to another folder instead.
- Bug fix: When rename a category with "'" or "&" as part of its name, Biblioscape will freeze.
- Bug fix: When using Quick Add in the references module, Biblioscape generates error "Cannot create file C:\temp8\wIDList.txt".
- Improvement: Ctrl+D is now used instead of Del as the shortcut to delete the selected references.
- Improvement: Instead of checking the presence of the Adobe Acrobat Reader at the startup, it is now checked only when users click the PDF tab.
