I'm running Biblioscape 8 beta. I'm getting a TProgressBar out of range error when trying to export a db to Refer EndNote format, and I also get a cascade of errors when I start up the app, beginning with "No valid Acrobat serial number found" (what does Acrobat have to do with Biblioscape?) and ending with "Unspecified error". Privileges are not the problem here; I'm running the application as an administrator (not recommended, but I do programming on the VM where it's running, and it's easier to program when you're admin and you can just mess with the registry etc.).
(This is on XP Pro.)

Martin

Please see my other reply about the TProgressBar error. Biblioscape use Acrobat Reader to display PDF file inside Biblioscape. Do you have Acrobat Reader installed? Thanks, Paul

I had Adobe Reader 8 on the system, as well as an old copy of Adobe Acrobat 7. I removed Reader 8, installed the latest version 9, and now the error messages don't appear on startup. But I think if the application requires an external app to be there, it should provide more user-friendly error messages when it's not found; and the Biblioscape installer should check for Acrobat Reader and make sure the user's informed that it will be needed during the install process.

Martin, the latest release
Martin, the latest release will check the presense of Adobe Reader at the startup and give a user-friendly message. Thanks, Paul
