Can we please have the ability to display more than one linked (and other) folders simultaneously? I know the Boolean operations are meant to work with categories but I would also very much like this with folders. For example, I have a pool of references for a long paper that I want to subdivide by topic. I make one linked folder for the whole paper and one linked folder per topic. But now I have to make sure, manually, that the papers present in all topic folders are also present in the main folder. If I could display combined contents of several folders, I would not have the main linked folder at all and simply display all chapters or topics.
Please consider.
If you hold down the Ctrl
If you hold down the Ctrl key and then click folders, you will get a combined list. I suggest you use categories to subdevide your references by topic. Folders, Collections (Linked Folder) are designed to organize records by project. Categories are designed to organize records by subjects, topics, etc.

Do you mean in v.8?
In v.7, if I Ctrl-click two linked folder (I have tried this before your suggestion), I get nothing at all instead of the combined view - the display panel is empty. Also, what I have tried to describe is trying to organise by project. These divisions are temporary and I find assigning them to categories illogical and inconvenient because they ought to reside in the same folders as the relevant notes, charts, etc. Also, categories indeed refer to subjects and confusing them with project matter seems wrong. The linked folders I have in mind are just subdivisions of a project.
E.g. within one seminar series (project) I want to have 2008 Required Readings, 2009 Required Readings, 2009 Optional Readings, 2009 Optional Readings, Developmental Readings (for me to think about), readings by seminar, etc. All of these are overlapping and have associated notes, charts, etc. I want to be able to combine the views between these sets as I want to. Other Boolean operations are less important.
Thanks for looking into this.
I was refering to version
I was refering to version 8. Please get the latest beta at http://www.biblioscape.com/download/bsp8.exe
The latest beta improved the usability of Collections (linked folders). Now you can add records directly into a collection. It will still be added into a folder (the last one you opened). Collections are the right tool for your use example. Just hold down Ctrl key and select your collections, you will get a combined view. If you hold down Alt key first, then hold down Ctrl key and select collections, you will get a list of records that appear in all selected collections. This is less useful than the combined view though.

I see, sounds good. Well, I cannot use v. 8 for real work, right? Or is there way to transfer references from the beta to v. 7?
