I was able to import my database, output style, and journal editor to Bib8 but I am encountering the following problems:
1. When I open a reference, error message says: "list index out of bounds (1)"
2. When I try to close the reference without saving it the error says: "cannot create file"
3. When I attempt to create a reference the message is: "Table_bib_main: Field 'Folder_ID not found"
I have done a test to see the integrity of the database and it stated that there is no corruption. For now I am working in 7.33 but would like to use Bib8. Another problem is Bib8 registration. A message says "username and password do not match". I downloaded Bib8 yesterday, so I have the latest version.
Thanks for your assistance,
Carlos
1. Did you move any other
1. Did you move any other files from version 7 to version 8. Because of data structure changes, if you move files from old version to a new version, it may cause problems.
2. Where Biblioscape is installed? It cannot be put under "C:\Program Files\..." under Vista. Please put it under a folder where you have full access privilege.
3. This error message suggest your database is not properly converted from an earlier version. When you open a database of an earlier version, you should wait for the whole conversion process to finish.
Biblioscape major upgrades are not free. Version 7 registration key cannot be used to register version 8.
Thanks,
Paul
I guess so
1. What I did was to open my database under Bib8. I took a while, Bib8 appeared to be frozen, but I was patient and at some point the notice of importing appeared saying that it could take a while. At the end I had all my references in Bib8. So I guess I imported them all right.
2. Biblioscape is not under Program Files under my Vista 64x.
3. I don't see any other way of converting than the method I described above. By the way, this upgrade is expensive, sorry to say.
Thanks
You can zip all the files
You can zip all the files under your Biblioscape database folder and email me the zip. I will see if I can get the same error message. Paul support@biblioscape.com
