Menu commands

File

  • New Database: To create a new database. The current database will be saved first, and you will be prompted for a file name for the new database.
  • Open Database: To open an existing BiblioExpress database. The current database will be saved first, and you will be prompted for a file name for the program to open.
  • Import | Biblioscape Tag File: Import records from a Biblioscape tag file.
  • Import | EndNote Refer File: Import records from an EndNote Refer file.
  • Export | Biblioscape Tag File: Export current data set as a Biblioscape Tag File.
  • Export | EndNote Refer File: Export current data set as an EndNote Refer File.
  • Print: To print the currently selected records. If you want to print all records in the data file, do a “Edit | Select All” (Ctrl+A) first before print.
  • Exit: Exit BiblioExpress. The current atabase will be saved first before exit.

Edit

  • Text | Undo: To undo the last action involving text “Cut”, “Copy”, and “Paste”.
  • Text | Cut: To cut the selected text, and put it into Windows Clipboard.
  • Text | Copy: To copy the selected text, and put it into Windows Clipboard.
  • Text | Paste: To paste text from Windows clipboard and put it at the current cursor position.
  • Copy Formatted: Copy the formatted text of selected reference(s) into Windows Clipboard based on the currently selected Style.
  • Shoot Formatted: Copy the selected reference(s) into Windows Clipboard. If Word or WordPerfect is open, the formated references(s) will be inserted at the current cursor position in your document.
  • Shoot to Footnote: Copy the current reference into Windows Clipboard. If Word or WordPerfect is open, a footnote will be inserted at the current cursor position in your documentthe and the formated reference will be pasted into the footnote. If you have selected text in Notes, Abstract, or Document field before using this command, the selected text will be pasted into your document. The footnote will be inserted next to it and the formatted reference pasted into the footnote.
  • Shoot to Endnote: Copy the current reference into Windows Clipboard. If Word or WordPerfect is open, a endnote will be inserted at the current cursor position in your documentthe and the formated reference will be pasted into the endnote. If you have selected text in Notes, Abstract, or Document field before using this command, the selected text will be pasted into your document. The endnote will be inserted next to it and the formatted reference pasted into the endnote.
  • Select All: Select all references in the data grid.
  • Find: To open the “Find” window, and find specified text in specified data field or any data field.
  • Replace: To open the “Replace” window, and replace the specified text with new one in specified data field or any data field.
  • Toggle Mark: To mark the selected record if it is not marked, or unmarked it if is already marked. 

View

  • Current View | Group By: To show the column grouping bar, you can then drag a column header to the bar to group records based on the contents of selected column. Click again to hide the column grouping bar.
  • Current View | Field Chooser: To show a Window with all available data fields, you can then drag data field to the data grid to display, or drag a column on the data grid back to that Window to hide.
  • Folder List: To show or hide the Dynamic Folder pane.
  • Show Preview: To show or hide the preview pane.
  • Status Bar: To show or hide the status bar. 

References

  • New Reference: To add a new record into the data file.
  • Create Duplicate: To add a new record base on the currently selected record.
  • Delete: To Delete currently selected records.
  • Open: To edit the selected record with reference editor. Double click the selected record can do the same thing.
  • Retrieve All: Go to the first record in the list.
  • Search | Fast Search: Jump to record by a number.
  • Search | Dynamic Folder: Go to the last record in the list.
  • Empty Recycle Bin: Delete all the references permanently from the recycyle bin.
