Paul,
the composition modul is working quite good yet, it is the masterpiece of Biblioscape! However, I think there should be
a) a possibilty to assign notes quickly to a composition outside the Composition modul, when creating a new note in a reference or in the Notes modul. I think of this like assigning a category to a reference or note. Until now that takes three steps: creating a note, going to notes modul and the notes tab, then dragging and dropping it to the composition.
b) when creating a note in the Composition modul, I'm asked in which folder I want to save this note, but there are only (main) folders of the "Folder list" listed, there should be also the folders of the Notes view and their childs.
c) when creating a note in the Composition modul, the last selected note type should be retained, until now the standard note is "Web clibbing".
Thank you very much
Marcus
a) I am not sure about this
a) I am not sure about this one. If you want to add a note and make it appear under a composition folder, you can go to a composition folder and create note from there. A composition folder selection in a note record window will not be needed for lots of users in lots of cases.
b) Only regular notes folders will be shown. What do you mean by "notes view and their childs"?
c) This will be fixed in the next patch release. Thanks.
b) I'm sorry for confusing
b)
I'm sorry for confusing Folders and Notes, I meant, that when creating a new note in Composition modul I'm asked to save this note under a Folder, but very often I want to save it under a Note (e.g. as a childnote).
This problem is partly linked to my question http://support.biblioscape.com/node/1222 and has also to do with
a)
I think it would be very useful to have the possibilty to assign a newly - under a Notes Folder or in a Reference - created note quickly under a part of one or more compositions (as it is for categories) and to have the possibility to add notes to compositions when browsing the Notes folders. This idea is due to different approaches to datacollection:
First, the project approach: I collect notes (informations) under one Project (Note) Folder to assemble them later in the composition and make the hierarchy there, I do not need necessarily a);
Second, the long term research approach: I collect notes (informations) in different (Note) folders and then in Notes and Childnotes, the hierarchy is be done in this way and is reused later for compositions. That is, why it would be very helpful to assign notes from within the notes collection and when browsing it to a composition.
Thank you very much
Marcus
In the next patch release,
In the next patch release, users will be able to drag notes in notes module and drop them to a composition folder. The selected notes will be added to the outline. When creating a new note in composition module, you can only select notes folder. Individual notes cannot be displayed. For note record widow, there is a link tab on the right. It lists composition folder this note is linked to. You can add a new link to folder and select a composition folder. I guess no one will use this approach. Because the newly added drag and drop feature is a lot easier. Thanks.
