Bugs with Composition modul

Paul,

I got following bugs unsing composition modul:
a) Under "Folder List" I created under a "Folder" a subfolder as "Composition", then tried to add a new Outline Item via "New Outline Item (Note)" "+". I got always an access violation bug, only after dragging and dropping notes into the new composition I was able to add outlines. So, the problem I reported some days ago and you thought to have found the problem is persisting, I'm sorry.

b) After this I went to a Notes Folder and tried to add a new subnote in Notes List Tree view. The hierachie was:
Main Note (on the Folder List)
Parent Note (on the Notes Tree View with several other Child Notes under it) - here I tried to create another
Child Note

This caused a deletion of the Parent note (but not the deletion of the child notes). I have never observed this behavior before, it must have to do with the composition modul.

Thanks
Marcus

I too am getting a similar error

Access violation error when trying to create new outline item. Dragging and dropping does not persist when switching between references and composition views. Whole programme becomes unstable after access violation.

This bug is fixed in 7.31

This bug is fixed in 7.31 release. Do you have 7.31 or 7.30? Thanks.

The bug is not fixed in 7.31

I went to 'composition | outline | add' Entered the name of the new note as 'test', lcicked OK and got an access violation.

Marcus, I cannot reproduce

Marcus, I cannot reproduce a) anymore. I first reproduced it when you reported the bug days ago. After the fix, I can no longer reproduce it. Can you reproduce b) without first getting a)?  Thanks.

Unable to work with composition module

I keep getting Acess Violation messages in each and all buttons of the Outline in composition module. When dragging notes too. When trying to drag again, the system asks me if I want to drag the note that "is already there" in the composition pane again, but I cannot see any notes that I dragged being actually dragged.

- When pressing New Note Outline Item (Note) I get Access violation message
- When dragging reference items into Suggested Reading window I get nothing (they are not placed there)
- In the Inspector Pane I can see some but not all of my references that are in any of my particular folders (I see the folders in the drop down menu, but not the sub-folders)
- When trying to drag a reference from a folder I get Access violation message

I didn't try it all because it is frustrating not being able to work (meaning not being able to learn how it works).

The first 7.3 upload has a

The first 7.3 upload has a bug that can cause AV error when saving record. It has been fixed in the next patch upload. Please get the latest patch at http://support.biblioscape.com/node/1212. Thanks.

Unable to create folder in Composition Module

I am unable to create a folder in Composition Module. I have recently installed Biblioscape 7 again from a fresh download and added patch 7.33 because of that problem, but It did not fix it.

When I open composition module the application asks me to create a folder first. I right-clicked on the right column (folders column) and selected New Folder. A dialog box showed up where I input the name, type and description of the folder. When I hit OK I got the following error message:

Access violation at address 0061F472 in module 'Biblioscape.exe'. Read of address 000000F

Please, help me get this feature working smoother.

Thank you.

Fixed

For some reason, when I created a folder with name Compositions it did work and it is working fine. I guess that was the missing link.
