It is consistent here...I have made numerous tests and as long as there is more than one word in the search, I will get the error, which makes the 'add search to folder' feature totally broken.
Just tried doing this in 7.27 and I am getting exactly the same error. Fast search, two terms, reference module.
With one term in the fast search I find 61 references in my database. The search folder made of this search does not produce an error but does not show any references either (I have not restarted Biblioscape after deleting the previous search folder). After restart/rebuild/rebuild index the behaviour is still the same.
I cannot reproduce this. You can zip all the files under your database folder and let me know the place to download the zip. I will see if I can reproduce it with your database. Thanks.
Biblioscape search folder can inherit parent property. For example, if you put a search folder under another folder, clicking on the search folder will retrieve records not only met the search folder conditions, but also its parent's. With this feature, you can drag and drop a search folder around and easily run new searches. In future installations, this feature will be turned off by default. Because it could confuse new users. You can turn it off by go to the "Tools | Options" window. Thanks.
Thanks, I did not know. Sounds like a useful feature.
However, not knowing of its existence, I have never used it so I do not think this is an explanation for the behaviour I observed. The search forlders in the above example were created automatically by Biblioscape and I did not relocated them anywhere manually.
I see. I tried again and it seems you are correct. If there is a reference sub-forlder selected, the search folder is created as a child and I always get an Engine Error. If the folder is moved to root it seems to work OK. If any search folder is made a child an error seems to occur. Looks like a bug?
Another question, I do not understand how Biblioscape decides where to create the search folder. They do not seem to be created in the folders selected in the dialog but instead at the same level as the selected folder. Is that expected?
I don't get engine error. You can zip all the files under your database folder and email me the zip. I will see if I can reproduce it with your database. The search folder will be added at the same level as the folder selected. You can reorder a folder by hold down the Ctrl key and then drag and drop.
Once a query is saved as a search folder, Biblioscape cannot display the search string only. The whole sql is shown which include the Deleted condition. If you click the right mouse button and select Properties, you can view the the search string in the SQL tab. I received your database. I did a search, saved it as a search folder and clicked on it, I didn't get the error message.
I tried again and it seems to be working for me also. One thing I changed since trying last - I moved all reference without folders created when converting from B6 into a temporary directory as you advised elsewhere. Maybe this helped...

Here is an image of a test search. What does the word Deleted mean at the beginning of a search string?
Also, would it be possible to make the search string fully visible via a double-click or some such method? Currently it gets truncated by the window.
.......
P.S. Would it not be better to have all messages left-aligned?
