How do I print references followed by their abstracts AND notes?
To the best of my knowledge there are at least two ways to input notes relative to a reference:
a) In the "Notes" module with a subsequent insertion of a link to the respective reference
b) In the "Note" tab (field) of the reference.
I used the second approach to most of my references, but I did not find the way to print the references details followed by the respective notes I wrote within each of them. Is it possible or will I have to do a ton of copy and paste moves using a word processor to get this done?
Thank you for any suggestions.
I agree, but actually for
I agree with Marcus and SR, but actually for the original poster this is not an issue. If your notes are in the note tab of the reference field, simply make a custom output style that includes the "notes" field. This is very easy to do and will allow you to print out a long list of references that includes everything you have typed into the notes field. Obviously, you can do this with the abstract field as well.
best,

Matt, unfortunately users
Matt,
unfortunately users can't print "Notes" (of the Notes modul!) via the output style. Your solution works only for information in the "Note"-field of a reference. (But perhaps I'm misssing here semething?)
It's true, the denomination of this field in references is a little bit misleading. Perhaps this field can be renamed to "Memo" or "Notice". Thanks
Marcus
Report outputs, you mean?
I presume you are referring to report outputs. Report module is not available in the Lite or Standard version. I guess I have to upgrade then. Thanks for the tip.
You don't need the report
You don't need the report module. What Matt meant is to go to "Tools | Styles | Output Styles". Then edit the style you use by adding the note field and abstract field to the style.
Paul, I don't understand
Paul,
I don't understand very well, in Tools | Styles | Output Styles I can't find a possibilty to include notes of the "Notes modul" (!) in my style to print them accordingly to the reference they belong to. May you please explain this feature in more detail?
Thanks a lot
Marcus
The current release does not
The current release does not allow the inclusion of linked records in style editor. We will try to add this feature in the next major release. Thanks.
That's great
Thank you!
I support this demand also.
I support this demand also. This is (after the upcoming Composition modul) the most important feature I miss in Biblioscape, because I need a lot of time to copy/paste notes in the word processor to print them accordingly to the reference they belong to.
Thanks you very much
Marcus
