I am trying to restructure my database to fit better with v.7 ways. Currently, I have a folder A with 133 references and a category with the same name, A with 129 references. I select all references in the folder and click Categorize. After a delay, a Categorize dialog is displayed (can this operation be any faster, BTW?). No categories are highlighted there (BTW, can the display be more explicit that the items belong to multiple categories? Also, even if I select only two entities that both belong only to category A no category is highlighted in this view. This is misleading. Perhaps coincidental categories could be displayed with a tick and the non-coincidental ones with a greyed out box?). I click on category A, it is displayed at the bottom, and close the dialog. However, the references are NOT added to the category and not displayed if I click on it in the Category view. It does not work for any number of multiple items, actually? Is it meant to work? This would be most convenient. Is it a bug? I am using 7.26
Error
When I am trying to drag the items from the folder onto a category I am getting this error:
Now I am feeling stuck. Even if I isolate the needed items via a search, do I have to go through them one by one?
Well, after this error clicking on any category produces an identical complaint and an attempt to close Biblioscape results in this:
And after that in similar errors with different addresses. Rebuild finds no errors and after restart categories are clickable again.
Still more...
Trying to move 663 references filtered by a category from the main grid into one of my non-link folders resulted in the following Index out of Bounds error .
About two thirds of these references already resided in the destination folder.
I cannot reproduce this bug
I cannot reproduce this bug (list out of bound). But I can reproduce the problem of slow response when selecting a large number of records for categorizing or drag and drop to another folder. Both problems will be fixed in 7.27 release. Thanks.
Thanks for looking into
Thanks for looking into this. I was able to transfer the references in portions and the crash bug is not reliably reproducible. It was only occurring with large numbers of references as I mentioned. Is that what you were also trying?
