Images and Information

Paul,

Very often it is useful to combine information with images. Biblioscape use images for example with icons to make clear in which form a references has been published. I want to suggest to go ahead on this way. In my opinion it is a good strategy for virtuel environments to attach book covers with the references. Users will remeber more easily the abstracts they wrote.

There is yet the possibility to add images in the document field. That is why I want to ask:

1) Is it a problem for size and speed of the database when users add to each referece the cover of the book or the journal in document field?
2) Would it be possible to have the document field on the top of "Live Preview"- and "Read only"-Tab in the Preview pane. Or alternatively, because in document field can also be long documents, to have an extra image field in the size of Amazon covers field for this purpose? This would allow users to scroll their references, to see author and title and the covers of books

Thank you very much
Marcus

It is possible to add images

It is possible to add images to the Document field. In your browser, click the right mosue button on an image and select "Copy". Go to the Document field in Biblioscape and press Ctrl+V to paste the image. The image has to be pasted by itself, not together with text. We will make it work the later way in the future. Thanks.
