Sometimes I have to deal with edited books that don't name an editor. When I leave the field Editors blank, BS uses the book title instead, which is just what I want. BUT: how can I make BS to not add "(ed.)" or whatever text comes after the editor name, when the field is not empty?

You can go to style editor,

You can go to style editor, and double click the editor entry. You can then remove the "(ed.)" text after the editor field.
