_'s in category field

When I enter a reference manually, ie, create a new reference not import from PubMed, the category still shows up as __.

_'s in category field

Hi, it's been about 3-4 years since I last used Biblioscape. I recently download the most recent trial version and have been using it. Since it has been a while since I used Biblioscape, the categories concept is new to me. I am running Windows VISTA these days. I have the __ in the category field apparently like other people. I cannot edit the category field for any of the references I have entered or change the __ in any way I can see. I am able to create categories in the category tool, but I can't seem to do much else with categories. Is this a bug, an artifact of Windows VISTA, or am I just doing something wrong?

In the live preview pane or

In the live preview pane or in the reference editor widow, you can manually edite the categories field. The "__" is caused by a bug. We will get it fixed in future patch release. Thanks.

not the encoding

well, i do not use the german OS or encoding..... still the same.

The "__" is probably

The "__" is probably inherited from the current record when you create a new one. I don't k now how "__" is generated in the first place. If you can reproduce the generation of  "__" in categories field, please let me know. In version 7.23 "Options" window "Database" tab, there is a check box to turn off the inheriting categories from current record when create a new one. Thanks.

same here

I also get __ it in my new references irrespective of the categories in the current record.

same here as well

Thanks, Volker

I cannot reproduce this when creating a new reference.
